Francesco Bigoni

Francesco has been active on the Italian scene since his early twenties, before relocating to Copenhagen, Denmark in 2009. He graduated from the Soloist line at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory, Copenhagen in 2012. 

He has been a founding member of the Italian artist collective/record label El Gallo Rojo, and is an ILK member since 2014, appearing in over forty albums and touring extensively in many different countries. 

As a passionate and multifaceted wind instrumentalist and composer, Francesco pursues sound from all sides: he holds a degree in electrical engineering and is active in the field of electroacoustics and interaction design. 

He co-leads the Italian-Danish quintet On Dog, which has toured extensively in Italy, Germany, Denmark and Luxembourg since 2012 (Copenhagen Jazzhouse, Casa del Jazz – Rome, Loft – Cologne, Copenhagen Jazz Festival, Abbaye de Neumünster – Luxembourg, Metastasio Jazz – Prato, Correggio Jazz, …) and released three albums on ILK.

Apart from On Dog, Francesco co-leads Maniscalco/Bigoni/Solborg (featured on ILK as well), The Weaving 4 (with Francesco Diodati, Benoît Delbecq and Steve Argüelles) and Crisco 3 (with Piero Bittolo Bon and Beppe Scardino); he is featured as a sideman in a number of projects led by Zeno De Rossi, Francesco Diodati, Maria Faust, Federica Michisanti, Danilo Gallo and more.
