Kaiser Pommes is the brand new quartet of the Danish trumpeter Kasper Tranberg and Danish Berlin-saxophonist Asger Nissen. In this explosive encounter, they merge the improv scenes of Copenhagen and Berlin, and so they do with the German drum luminary Oli Steidle as well as the exciting Danish bassist Thorbjørn Stefansson. Focusing on wide-ranging improvisational strategies, hybrid beats and maximum mobility, Kaiser Pommes entangle the compositional inputs of Tranberg and Nissen. The different compositional approaches of Tranberg and Nissen evidence a fresh and interesting meeting of two vibrant generations. 

After their debut at the Copenhagen Jazz Festival 2023 the Berlin-Copenhagen-based “Kaiser Pommes” recorded their first album in the Berlin studio Zentrifuge in March 2024. A two-day session resulted in a passionate and vibrant selection of composed pieces and improvisations. It captures the highly dynamic interplay and intense feeling of a band of today's leading European improvisers and musicians.
