Collection: Peter Danstrup
Danstrup (b. 1954) is one of the most significant, meticulous and versatile artists in Denmark if you compare him to any other bassist and composer at his age. After a remarkably carrier on the jazz, rock and fusion scene in the seventies to mid-nineties, he was the progressive director of the Rhythmic Music Conservatory 1997-2005. After that he has released record after record showing his talent as a composer and arranger as well as a writer and video director. His work is now tending to be extensive creations, embracing a broad variety of styles, often biting commentaries on contemporary life, performed with a never failing sense of humor and sarcasm. His bass playing is setting new standards for the acoustic bass guitar, echoing first movers from Steve Swallow to John Entwistle.
